Invitation

We are pleased to announce that the Geophysical Laboratory (Carnegie Institution of Washington), Bayerisches Geoinstitut (Bayreuth University), and the Institute for Study of the Earth's Interior (Okayama University) will co-sponsor the fourth in a series of topical symposia. The meeting will be held in a newly built convention center in Kurayoshi, western Japan, from October 2 - 5, 2001. The theme of the meeting is "Transport of Materials in the Dynamic Earth". There will be six topical sessions with keynote and invited lectures for each session to be provided by experts in the field. Contributed papers will mainly be presented by posters, but the organizers will ask selected papers be also given in short talks in the discussion period.

We are soliciting abstracts of the papers for the meeting, which will be assembled into an abstract volume. Abstracts should be no longer than two pages in length in A4 format, including figures and references. The abstract can be submitted electronically, either through home page or by email. Detailed instructions for abstract preparation and submission as well as instructions for poster presentation are given below.

You are cordially invited to participate in this meeting. Please contact us by email if you would like to have a personalized invitation letter addressed to you,
